Previous Workshop
The EU-GCC Partnership Cooperation in Higher Education
March 10 - 11, 2009
Kuwait University, Shuwaikh Campus
TheThe Euro-Gulf Research Unit of Kuwait University, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Germany and the Gulf Research Center organised a two day workshop to explore how cooperation between the GCC and the European Union in the higher education could be advanced. The workshop had three key objectives: One was to examine existing programs to see what lessons could be drawn in terms of building learning networks between the GCC and the EU. The second was to outline where possible opportunities might lie and to identify possible areas of better cooperation. Finally, the workshop aimed to involve the Kuwaiti student community in the discussions. In that context, the workshop was divided into two parts: the first day was devoted to an expert meeting to exchange experiences while on the second day an open forum was held where the focus was on the discussion with the student body.
